Starting from the unusual qualities of the human voice, and from what different kinds of bodies and voices do, my work explores how voices radiate and who voices contact. The voice creates an instant 4-D theatre of experience: it touches us, literally, and it vibrates through time and space. Whose voices’ touch gets felt? Who is accorded the microphone and what voices get amplified? How can we choose to touch differently with voice and open up new possibilities for relationship? How can the theatrical, and how can new technologies, help us understand how we are changed by the expressive power of our vibrating human emanations? What movements, dances, materials, images, stories, fabrics, weavings… are e-voked by the reach of the voice?

Voices, bodies, touch, theatre, performance, environments, objects: we grapple.
